Bing Search Results Now Showing JSON-LD Support

The other week we reported that Bing added JSON-LD support for schema and markup. Well, now if you look at some of the Bing search results and see the markup, some of those results are powered off of JSON-LD and not the Microdata or RDFa formats. Brodie Clark posted an example on Twitter and said “Have come across some interesting Bing structured data examples in the wild now that there’s support for JSON-LD. The click-to-call from SERPs is pretty awesome. Not sure about the blank 320 x 220 image though.”…

Bing Knowledge Panels Cite Sources & Can Pull From Facebook & YouTube

Brodie Clark posted on Twitter that he found it interesting that Bing would show Facebook as a source of information for their knowledge graph. Microsoft and Facebook do have a partnership, of course. But still. Here is the example he used, where the knowledge panel for [portion perfection] used Facebook data. The neat thing is that they actually cite and link to where the knowledge information is coming from. 5 things that Bing does better than Google

I have to be honest. When approaching this article, my initial reaction was something along the lines of, ‘Ha! Bing doesn’t do anything better than Google!’. Quite a few things actually. Let’s first take a look at the market share between the two rivals. In the US, Bing occupies a third of the market. A third! That’s pretty high…

Sad…” Here is his screen shot where you can see the API throwing an error code when trying to get a list of…

Intent-based keyword research: Let Google be your guide

Whether paid or organic, when it comes to search marketing, keywords are king. Good keyword research is at the heart of any successful search marketing campaign, so it pays to get it right from the get-go. Good keyword research, however, isn’t just about search volume, competition level, suggested bids or any of the other metrics you see in a keyword research tool like Google’s keyword planner. While all of these metrics are helpful, the most important trait of any keyword is the intent behind it. From a data perspective, a…
